All of a sudden, you have difficulty breathing, and your chest feels like something very heavy is pressing on it. Your heartbeat pounds loudly in your subconscious, your hands become very sweaty, and you have trouble thinking. In addition, you’re so dizzy that the room seems to be going around in circles. You’re having a panic attack, a condition which afflicts many people all over the world.

An accepted anxiety self help method is self hypnosis. When a panic attack comes along, inhale deeply, then exhale, and repeat this some couple of times. While inhaling and exhaling, count backwards from ten or twenty. Concentrate on relaxing your muscles initially from the feet going up to the top of your head.

When you want to overcome an attack, some people use visualization. When people use this option they have a safe place in their mind that they go to. It could be a place from childhood, or it could be a room in your own home, such as your living room or kitchen. When people that experience these kind of attacks feel one coming on, they will imagine themselves in their safe place where they feel relaxed and confident.

There is plenty of information out there so if these anxiety self help techniques don’t work don’t be afraid to look other places. There is a plethora of information geared specifically to those that suffer from panic attacks in both books and on the web. A little effort will go a long way so don’t tolerate being a victim.

Finding out how to stop panic attacks can help you to feel more relaxed in your everyday life. You will no longer fear going out in public because you will know how to control your body’s panic reaction. You might still have panic attacks, but with the confidence that you know how to control them and will not be overwhelmed by them.

Some men and women constantly worry about doing something that will embarrass them in front of others and they feel like they have no control over their lives. They are fine one moment, then experiencing the attack the next. You can have only one every once in a while or a series of them in one day, it is different for each individual.

The fear that is produced from an Panic Attack can make it very hard for a person to live a normal healthy life. They may find it difficult to go to work each day in fear that something bad will happen. Many men and women that suffer from Panic Attack signs find it imposable to participate in social gathering or other public events. Some may even find it hard to go to the grocery store. Even though it is not known for sure what causes these attacks it is know that certain habits can increase them. For example, some medications can increase the risks of having an anxiety attack. Drugs and alcohol will also contribute to anxiety. For many men and women being exposed to an uncomfortable situation or in a place where they feel trapped can cause an Panic Attack to occur. men and women of all ages and both gender can experience this condition.
